While a lot of Cyberpunk 2077 players are already imagining how sweet life will be when the Phantom Liberty Expansion arrives and they can ditch their old flame Keanu Reeves for a fresh celebrity companion in Idris Elba, some are still hanging out in Night City while they wait.

For veteran players who’re busy barreling through the last few gigs and missions in their quest log and exploring CD Projekt Red’s dense urban jungle on foot to try and unearth hidden secrets, having a slick set of wheels is a must.

If you’re a choom who’s in the market for a new ride, but want something a little faster than a drift-tuned saloon, a new mod might be worth adding to your load order.

Here’s your chance to blast along Cyberpunk 2077’s freeways in the fastest naturally aspirated production car in the world

The mod in question is called ‘95' McLaren F1’ and is the work of modder Ctxrlsec. Some of their previous projects have added some extra rays of Californian sun to Night City’s lighting and brought a classic Japanese import to its streets.

This time, they’ve decided to add the incredibly fast and equally rare McLaren F1 to the game as a standalone car that you can buy via DJ_Kovrik’s ‘Virtual Car Dealer’ and use to show rich kids in Aerondights and Caliburns what a real hypercar looks and sounds like.

Available in a wide range of colours and an accurate interior and, as well as a working speedometer so you can track how close you are to its top speed, the F1 is perfect for both grizzled mercenaries looking to fulfil their racing driver fantasies and corporate bigwigs aiming to prove they actually have some taste.

Its handling model is also seemingly designed for stability at high speed, though you still might end up writing it off if you get careless when scything through slower traffic or hit the accelerator too early coming out of a corner.

Before you can accidentally slam the F1 into a wall though, you’ll first have to grab the mod’s lengthy list of requirements, which includes Psiberx’s ‘ArchiveXL’ and ‘TweakXL’, E3roKK’s ‘Cyber Vehicle Overhaul’ and Ctxrlsec’s own ‘Vehicle Manufacturers Resource’.

Regardless of whether you’re now sitting by the side of the road making a tense phone call to one of Night City’s insurance companies, make sure to follow us for more interesting Cyberpunk 2077 mods and info on the Phantom Liberty expansion.
