Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time Placeholder Code May Confirm A Nintendo Switch Release

Crash Bandicoot fans were delighted when it was revealed that the legendary franchise would be receiving another title.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is set to release October 2nd 2020, so fans don't have long to wait.

However, the game's reveal trailer only provides confirmation of the game's release on Xbox One and PS4.

This was disappointing for a number of fans who were hoping the game would release with a version on Nintendo Switch.

Despite no confirmation, a recent discovery in the Crash Bandicoot website code may have just revealed the existence of an upcoming Switch version of the game.

Nintendo Switch Version

@SunwerPrower tweeted a photo of the game's source code and it refers to the Nintendo Switch.

The Switch is stated underneath the 'PlatformLabel' section.

Although this doesn't confirm a Switch release, it suggests one is planned to be released in the future.

Switch versions of games are often revealed months after a game's initial release.

The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was released to the Switch around a year after the initial PS4 and Xbox One release.

We can expect a similar release schedule for Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time.

This is great news for any fans who were hoping for a Switch version of the game.

Keep in mind the source code is not a direct confirmation.

However, it certainly implies a Switch version of the game could be on the horizon.

For now, all we can do is await the full release of the game on PS4 and Xbox One.

Keep your eye out for any news about a Switch release after the game's full release on October 2nd.
