Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies: Two-Player Splitscreen Arriving In Season One

The first season of post-launch content for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone is right around the corner.

Season One is said to be the largest drop of free content that has ever released in a Call of Duty game. Players will be able to earn new Operators, play in brand-new game modes, get to grips with new weaponry, and drop into Rebirth Island for the very first time.

Although zombies players won’t be getting the chance to play on a brand-new map, there is still a wealth of content arriving when Season One goes live on December 16th.

Ranging from festive limited-time modes to new Onslaught maps for PlayStation users, the launch of the new season will introduce a new way for players to experience the endless waves of the undead.

Splitscreen has been a staple of the Call of Duty franchise

In their latest blog post, developer Treyarch and publisher Activision have revealed that a two-player split-screen option will be arriving during Season One.

Prior to the official confirmation of a dedicated split-screen option, there were several workarounds which enabled players to play multiplayer using split-screen but there was no way for duos to take on Die Maschine using split-screen.

Some players tried to create a solution but none worked.

Why is Splitscreen A Big Deal?

Since the inception of Call of Duty zombies, split-screen has been one of the main ways of playing the mode alongside with single-player and more recently, online multiplayer.

By offering another way to play, it opens the door for more players to experience zombies which is always a positive.

We know that Season One will begin on December 16th but an exact date for when players will be able to play split-screen zombies has yet to be confirmed.

Considering that this particular feature is one of the most requested by players, it is more than likely that it will be added as soon as the new season drops.
