Call of Duty: A Comparison Of Adler In Black Ops Cold War And Warzone

The release of Season One for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is right around the corner.

On December 16th, developer Treyarch will launch what is said to be the largest drop of free content ever seen in the history of the Call of Duty franchise.

Season One will include a wealth of content including brand-new weapons, maps, game modes and so much more.

While Black Ops Cold War will receive plenty of content, the launch of the new season is also significant for Warzone, which will include the entire Black Ops Cold War weapon arsenal and a new map known as Rebirth Island.

Integration between the titles first began when Black Ops Cold War released, adding all Operators into the battle royale. One user has detailed the differences between the Operators in both games and it certainly makes for interesting reading.

Black Ops Cold War And Warzone Comparison

Data miners and leakers @Cheezeburgerboys posted a side-by-side comparison of Agent Russell Adler and revealed that the Warzone model of the Operator possesses a higher polygon count.

compared the Modern Warfare and Cold War models of adler side by side. MW has a higher polygon count, and there are slight changes. I thought they'd be 1:1 the same(left is MW, right is CW) pic.twitter.com/X5Io1PgL4D

But what exactly does a higher polygon count mean? By having a higher polygon count, it means that the character model will contain more detail and in terms of Adler, adding more detail to features such as his scar is all part of telling his background story.

With a higher polygon count, it does mean that the Warzone model of Adler will take up more space on your hard drive.

The Adler model for Black Ops Cold War contains less polygons, meaning that the model takes up less space and is optimised better.

Why Is This Interesting?

It is very rare to see an in-depth look at some of the character models in a Call of Duty title.

It is also interesting to see how exactly the same character will look on two games that will be running alongside each other for the next year, and with the debate of whether Warzone or Black Ops Cold War looks better, it’s always good to see someone add further evidence to the conversation.
