Season 4 for Black Ops Cold War is in full swing, which means weapon balancing will come and tinker with the pecking order and the current meta.
It's always a good idea to know where a weapon compares to others in a tier list to know how useful it is and whether you should invest your time into it.
With over 25 weapons to use, (excluding the knife and launchers) it can be tricky to determine which weapons are better than others.
Here's the Weapon tier list for Black Ops Cold War.

S Tier Cold War Tier List
S Tier Cold War Tier
This tier stands above the rest as being on the verge of broken or for practical reasons tops the rest.
The AUG is a weapon that is verging on broken status due to its consistent one-burst lethality.
Other great weapons include the recently buffed Milano 821, which is now in contention as one the best SMGs in the game thanks to its sheer flexibility. The LC10 closely follows the Milano thanks to its incredible mid-range performance despite a hefty nerf.
The LW3 Tundra, with the right attachments (and hands), will dominate anyone in a flash due to its consistency and great hit detection.
The Krig 6 is one of the only assault rifles in this tier, as it's so strong in every department. Despite being so strong, it noticeably lacks a little consistency in some places that stops it being the top of the pack.
Despite being a really immobile weapon, few weapons can go toe to toe with the Stoner 63 and once it's fully kitted out it's arguably the best weapon in the game.
A Tier Cold War Tier List
A Tier Cold War Tier
A tier features a number of fan favourite weapons due to how well they handle and their consistency, but can't quite keep up with our S Tier kings.
As the top of the pile, the M16 is probably the strongest weapon of the bunch as it's very similar to the AUG but lacks that ridiculous one-burst consistency.
The MAC-10 and MP5's previous nerfs have done a trick to tame their dominance, but they're still a top pick in multiplayer.
The Pelington drops into A tier because, while it's good, it's not the LW3.
As for the FFAR, XM4 and AK-47, while they have incredibly redeeming qualities (like ease of control and lack of recoil), they lack that final blow that would put them past weapons like the Krig 6.
B Tier Cold War Tier List
B Tier Cold War Tier
There are many nice weapons in the B Tier, that by no means are pushovers, but are held back by a few factors that stop them from dominating.
For most, it's underwhelming power (M82, FARA, QBZ-83) or lack of handling that puts them down (DMR 14, Type 63, Groza).
C Tier Cold War Tier List
C Tier Cold War Tier
C Tier is where most weapons seem to fall flat - they just lack the damage to compete with the rest of the pack.
The R1 Shadowhunter is an exception to this, as it's a one-shot kill with solid hit detection, but due to its long reload times and lack of ammo it's hard to justify using this weapon.

The final batch of weapons, just have no real place in the multiplayer that you could say they are strong or useful.
You're better off trying other weapons.
E Tier
- E-Tool And Melee Weapons
- Launchers
