M60 Cold War Loadout, Best Attachments Setup And Class To Use

The M60 in Black Ops Cold War is one weapon that is always overlooked by players as they look for a better alternative. Despite many dismissing it, it still packs a lethal punch on the battlefield thanks to its consistent rate of fire.

Alongside the rate of fire, the high output of damage enables you to deal with any opposition in mid and long-distance combat, making it a great weapon to use on the maps with minimal cover.

With Season 5 underway, the M60 may experience a period of resurgence, especially if Treyarch decides to make any changes to the current weapon balance.

In this guide, find the best M60 attachments as well as the best loadout to build!

M60 Cold War Loadout

Unlocked at Level 46, the M60 is an LMG that is familiar to fans of the Call of Duty franchise.

Complete with a huge total of 75 bullets in the magazine and the very best firepower in its respective class, the M60 can be customised in a number of ways depending on how aggressive you want to play.

As with all LMGs, the M60 isn’t the most mobile of weapons and whenever a reload needs to take place, the chance of being eliminated is extremely high.

M60 Cold War Best Attachments

  • Visiontech 2x (Optic)
  • Muzzle Brake 7.62 (Muzzle)
  • 22.8” Match Grade (Barrel)
  • Infiltrator Grip (Underbarrel)
  • Fast Mag (Magazine)

With this set of attachments equipped, the overall mobility of the M60 increases in such a way that makes it incredibly versatile in mid to long-range engagements.

Although the iron sights are incredibly strong, selecting the Visiontech 2x optic provides a crystal-clear image of any targets in front of your position.

M60: Often overlooked but extremely underrated

Best M60 Cold War Class

Secondary

Gallo SA12

  • Duckbill Choke (Muzzle)
  • 24.8” Task Force (Barrel)
  • SWAT 5mW Laser Sight (Body)
  • Field Tape (Handle)
  • Wire Stock (Stock)

The M60 lacks performance in close-quarters situations making the SA12 the perfect accompaniment to this deadly loadout.

Thanks to this particular selection of attachments, very few weapons come close in terms of outright performance at close range.

Lethal

  • Frag

After a bit of time experimenting with other pieces of lethal equipment, we found that the frag had the biggest impact against enemies.

Tactical

  • Smoke Grenade

The smoke grenade can be used in a range of situations to help you on your way to victory.

Use it as a piece of cover when under fire from the opposition or use it to add another layer of confusion when pushing an objective.

Field Upgrade

  • Field Mic

The Field Mic is perfect for keeping track of any enemy activity in the nearby area.

For maximum effectiveness, place it in an inconspicuous location to reveal the exact location of any opponents looking to take you down.

Perks

  • Tactical Mask
  • Quartermaster
  • Cold Blooded

Choosing these three Perks adds some handy benefits during a match.

Tactical Mask increases your resistance to flash and stun grenades, Quartermaster recharges your equipment after 25 seconds meaning you will have an unlimited amount of equipment, and Cold Blooded keeps you hidden from any AI-controlled Scorestreaks.

Wildcard

  • Gunfighter

The Gunfighter wildcard is arguably one of the strongest to select in Black Ops Cold War.

With the ability to equip eight attachments onto the M60, it can be customised in a variety of ways to dominate the battlefield.
