DICE L.A. Rebrands as Ripple Effect Studios

DICE L.A. is now Ripple Effect Studios, the developer announced in an official statement coinciding with a new website launch.

Respawn head Vince Zampella will act as manager of Ripple Effect, the same role he held when it was still DICE L.A.

"We’re so proud of our work as DICE LA and the DICE team will forever be a part of our DNA, but over the past eight years, we’ve developed our own culture and our own way of doing things,” Christian Grass, Ripple Effect’s general manager, said in the statement.

“We’re excited to look towards the future, expand the team and establish our own identity."

Part of that identity includes a “player-inspired experience” for Battlefield 2042 in addition to a new, unannounced project.

What that Battlefield experience might be is unknown just yet, but chances are, it's not single-player mode or battle royale.

DICE L.A. Rebrands as Ripple Effect Studios

“The talent here has a great track record of producing high-quality titles, and the studio’s set to make even more incredible games in the future,” Zampella said.

Ripple Effect will operate out of a new campus built in Los Angeles, California, but it will also hire for remote positions.

As GamesIndustry.biz noted, Zampella has been working toward this rebranding for a while now.

When he became “head coach” at DICE L.A. in 2020, Zampella said he wanted to give the studio a unique identity as a place where aspiring creators could make unique new experiences.
