The crafting mechanic in Fortnite is still fairly new. Although its been here for three seasons now, the system keeps evolving and it keeps getting simpler as the days progress.
That being said, as the seasons have progressed, crafting recipes have changed. Despite the changes in the recipes, the spawn rate of these crafting materials have been at an all time high.

Fortnite Season 8 crafting recipes
Before we move on to the process of crafting weapons, let's take a look at the recipes that are available in Fortnite.
If you've already started playing in this season, you will be aware of the two types of weapons that are available in the game. They are as follows:
- Sideways weapons
- Regular weapons
The regular weapons occur as normal floor loot. However, the Sideways weapons on the other hand, they can be found within the Sideways only.
Sideways weapon crafting recipes in Fortnite
- Sideways Rifle (Uncommon) + 15 Cube Monster Parts = Sideways Rifle (Rare)
- Sideways Rifle (Rare) + 20 Cube Monster Parts = Sideways Rifle (Epic)
- Sideways Rifle (Epic) + 25 Cube Monster Parts = Sideways Rifle (Legendary)
- Sideways Rifle (Legendary) + 50 Cube Monster Parts = Sideways Rifle (Mythic)
- Sideways Minigun (Uncommon) + 15 Cube Monster Parts = Sideways Minigun (Rare)

Regular weapon crafting recipes in Fortnite
- Assault Rifle (Rare or above) + 1 x Nuts and Bolts = Suppressed Assault Rifle
- Burst Assault Rifle (Rare or above) + 1 x Nuts and Bolts = Suppressed Assault Rifle
- Pump Shotgun + 1 x Nuts and Bolts = Charge Shotgun
- Lever Action Shotgun + 1 x Nuts and Bolts = Charge Shotgun
- Submachine Gun + 1 x Nuts and Bolts = Rapid Fire SMG
Now that we have a fair idea of all the crafting recipes in Fortnite Season 8, how do we craft a weapon?
How to craft weapons
Crafting weapons is very simple. All you need to do is head over to your inventory and hover over the weapon you want to craft.
Hovering over the weapon will show you the crafting recipe itself. And it will also let you know if you have all the necessary items in order to craft the said weapon.
If you have all the necessary parts, all you need to do is click on the craft button and you're good to go.
Do remember, the entire crafting process takes around 3-4 seconds to complete, so you're completely vulnerable during that time.
In order to protect yourself during this time, consider building a box around you. Or you could also craft weapons within the safety of a nearby building.
