Fortnite New Years Eve Event 2020: Date, Time, Countdown, Skins, Wrap And Everything You Need To Know

Chapter 2 Season 5 has gotten off to a flying start.

Players are checking out all the new locations within the map, and some iconic gaming characters have entered the item shop lately.

Operation Snowdown has filled the Christmas period with a series of challenges and rewards, but there is one more event before the New Year.

As always, Fortnite is going to have a New Year's event and we already know what's in store.

Since COVID-19 has put a stop to many of our social plans, this is something to do to fill that void and engage with your socially distanced peers.

Here's what we know about the New Year 2020 event in Fortnite.

Date And Time

Of course, the New Year's Eve event is going to take place when the clocks strike midnight on December 31st, 2020!

We anticipate players will be able to access the special playlist up to an hour before it goes live.

Epic Games usually recommends players queue up at least 30 minutes before to ensure they get a spot in the game.

If you're unable to watch it in-person, you'll need to tune into a stream!

Event Leaked

Is this significant to the storyline in Season 5?

It doesn't seem to be the case, despite a rift briefly appearing and setting off some fireworks.

Fireworks

A new leak has surfaced which was posted by a Twitter user named ximton, who has posted the following image which is what the New Year's fireworks will look like in the game.

This is around the same layout as we have seen in years past, so nothing too special this year. 

Weapon Wraps

We can expect players who attend the event will be rewarded with another Weapon Wrap.
