Fortnite Is Getting The GildedGuy Skin From Short Nite

Since Fortnite is a free-to-play game, it makes money from in-game purchases, but they also like to give back to their communities in some ways. In Fortnite, cosmetics are frequently given away for free. Players often receive free cosmetics in the Item Shop, whether it's a code for a free skin or a redeemed item.

The Fortnite developer recently announced a new set of free cosmetics with Rainbow Royale to support the LGBTQIA+ community. GildedGuy is a skin that is coming out very soon, so many are wondering if this will also be for free? We don’t know, but the release date for the skin is down below.

Fortnite Is Adding A GildedGuy Skin

Before we talk about Gilded Guy, we need to explain Short Nite, where he comes from. It is essentially a small film festival, where players can join and participate in a live event in which short films will be screened, much like a film festival, that will likely not be seen anywhere else. It’s the Sundance of Epic Games. It will be the second time Fortnite does this.

The show is available for 48 hours, so you can watch it whenever you like. The total viewing time for these films is approximately 40 minutes. Gilded Guy, a new skin, is being introduced before the event. The event is July 23rd-July 25th, and Gilded Guy is rumored to be released on the 22nd.

As part of GildedGuy, you'll receive a Slush Fighter Cape back bling and a Stellapen Smashpack pickaxe. On July 22nd (tomorrow), these items will appear in the item shop for varying prices. According to the description, this skin will cost 1,500 V-Bucks since it looks like an Epic rarity. There is no word yet on whether Fortnite will release a bundle.

GildedGuy does have a bit of a backstory, however. He lived a mundane life as a house painter but yearned for more excitement. GildedGuy dipped his paintbrush in a "slushy" substance one day, and he drew armor and sword on himself. Suddenly, his paintings came to life with real armor.

GildedGuy will be released on July 22nd.
