Fortnite: DreamHack Anaheim 2020: Dates, Prize Pool, Format And More


DreamHack Anaheim 2020 has announced that Fortnite will be featuring its biggest community tournament EVER as it is set to split $500,000 over two events (DreamHack Winter 2019 and DreamHack Anaheim 2020). With DreamHack Anaheim is taking place at the end of February, despite approaching Fortnite Season 11, it is safe to say we will be playing in Fortnite Season 12; it is unknown if this will be on the rumoured new map. Despite the Fortnite Champion Series recently switching to squads, this tournament will remain a solos tournament.

DreamHack is a three-day gaming lifestyle festival. These festivals are all about the massive BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer or Console) party, paired with a plethora of competitive tournaments and international esports competitions happening.

Dates & Venue

The event will take place on the 21st February 2020 until the 24rd February 2020 at the Anaheim Convention Centre in Anaheim, California, USA.

Prize Pool

The Prize Pool is set to be $250,000, with no details on how it will be split ($250,000 will be available at DreamHack Winter 2019).

Format

The tournament will liekly feature a a solos format, similar to DreamHack Winter 2019.

The tournament will feature a a solos format with 3 stages:

  • 3 Open Heats
  • Grand Final Qualifying Round with 600 players
  • The Grand Final with 100 players over 8 games

What You Need To Know to Participate

You have to be physically present at the festival in Anaheim, California, USA. This tournament is played fully on LAN.
