Should The Railgun Be Nerfed In Fortnite?

The Rail gun in was introduced in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7. It's barely been a week since the weapon made it to the game, but it's already creating chaos on the island.

Although it's got a very high reload time, and acts like the bolt action sniper, this weapon is deadly. There is no range issue even while aiming down the sights. To top it off, this weapon is practically silent, even while shooting.

Is the Rail gun overpowered in Fortnite?

The only drawback with this weapon is the fact that there's an aiming laser. It's very conspicuous and whoever you're targeting with this weapon can easily spot it, even from a distance.

Yes, trickshots are possible with this too. And funnily enough, if you manage to pair this with a recon scanner, you've got yourself a match winning pair. That being said, although the recon scanner makes it easy for you to track enemy loopers, the rail gun is a very formidable weapon in itself.

The best part about this weapon is the fact that you can easily wall bang in Fortnite. If there's an enemy standing behind a single wall, you'll be able to take them out with a well timed headshot. However, if they have a wall and a ramp in front of them, it'll break the builds only.

You can obviously double it up with some AR shots right after breaking the build in Fortnite. I, personally, can think of some really interesting ways to use it in Fortnite.

That being said, keeping in mind it's abilities, I do feel the Rail gun is overpowered in the game. Does it deserve to be removed? No, but it could definitely be nerfed a bit. However, given that it's got a high reload time, nerfing it any further could probably ruin the weapon as a whole.

Like I said before, it's just been a week since the launch of Fortnite. We've got the entire season left to see what kind of experiments Epic Games plans on conducting with this weapon.
