Fortnite 18.00 Update Patch Notes

Bug Fixes

Players can expect issues listed on the Fortnite Community Trello Board to be addressed in the 18.00 Update.

Fortnite Crew

There are no expected changes for Fortnite Crew, as the September update has already been posted at the beginning of the month.

New Cosmetics

While there's no Naruto in sight till now, there are a lot of new skins and cosmetics that we'll be seeing this season.

Most of the skins that we've seen in the Fortnite 18.00 update are brand new. That being said, the secret skin for the battle pass this season looks to be an original.

Although there were rumors about a Carnage skin, no one expected it to be in the battle pass. However, the skin is in the battle pass and can be claimed by reaching level 100.

Other than the above skins, there are a lot of skins that were decrypted. In fact, the long awaited Madcap set has also been decrypted.

And here are the rest of the skins that we'll be seeing after the Fortnite update today. The rarities are slightly broken for now. But expect them to be fixed once these skins and cosmetics go live after the Fortnite 18.00 patch.

Map Changes

The Fortnite Season 8 map has changed slightly after the Fortnite update today. The alien biomes have gone away.

They've been replaced by some red looking patch as depicted in the image below.

As seen in the trailer, there was a golden cube. Now this golden cube will probably be moving around the map, spreading corruption.

Funding Stations

We'll also be seeing something known as a funding station. Loopers can go here and deposit bars which would later on unlock interesting items for the community to use.

New Weapons and Items

Before we move on to the new weapons, let's take stock of what we have left from the previous season.

The loot pool has changed, but we'll have to wait for the downtime to end for the Fortnite update today, before we can check.

As seen in the Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass trailer, we may have a crossbow like weapon in the game. That, however, could be a part of the upcoming War Effort system.

Not only that, we'll probably be seeing some symbiote like weapons in the game as well after the Fortnite 18.00 update has gone live.

Further more, we've all been talking about the Sideways for a while now. Well there's an entire range of sideways weapons. The while a few of them will go live once the Fortnite update today is complete, Epic Games is apparently working on some more Sideways related weapons.

Apparently, the aforementioned Sideways Scythe will have special abilities as well. It isn't in the game yet, but it will go live soon enough.

Carnage and Venom get their own respective mythics after the Fortnite update today.

Interestingly enough, there's a new item that we'll be seeing in the game soon. Cube shards could possibly be replacing the nanites that we saw last season.

Speaking of items, we'll be seeing a new consumable called the Spicy Soda. It may not go live after the Fortnite update today, but it could be activated later on via a hotfix.

Interestingly enough, we've got a new wall trap as well. This armored wall trap reinforces builds and could probably deal some damage to enemy loopers as well.

Crafting & Side-Grading

Over the course of Fortnite Season 7, we've seen how crafting works and how side-grading works. A similar feature will be there in this season too.

For example, you will now be able to craft a charge shotgun using nuts & bolts and a pump shotgun. This is just one recipe. More such crafting recipes will be available in the near future.

And interestingly, over the duration of this season, the community gets to decide which weapon is vaulted and which is being unvaulted.

Loading Screen & Customization options

Just like every other season, Fortnite Season 8 will also be receiving a slew of loading screens. These loading screens mostly talk about the current scenario in Fortnite. Or they talk about what could come to the game.

Not only that, Toona Fish, that happens to be a part of the Fortnite Season 8 battle pass, has a huge list of customization options.

You can now loot ink bottles around the area to give the Toona Fish skin a specific set of colors. You will need three bottles of ink to unlock a specific style.

Interestingly enough, cosmic chests are still there in the game. These drop rainbow ink and you can collect a maximum of 25 such bottles each week.

New Wildlife & NPCs

The first flying wildlife has come to Fortnite Season 8. Although it's slightly underwhelming to see crows, there could be something special related to this.

Crows were commonly used by Uchiha Itachi in Naruto, so this could probably be an easter egg since we're getting Naruto in this season itself.

The crow, however, isn't the only avian species that we'll be seeing in Fortnite. There is a bigger flying animal, that is yet to go live.

Other than that, there are around 17 NPCs and 50 types of fish in Fortnite Season 8.

And interestingly enough, Bud the mushroom has also been rebooted.

New Challenges

While we still await the weekly challenges for Fortnite Season 8, there are a host of other challenges that have just been leaked.

And some of these challenge lists hint at upcoming events in Fortnite as well.

Additional Adjustments

Before talking about the challenges, we've finally received a new layout for the entire challenge menu. It looks cleaner and has even less clutter.

Not only that, you can now share quests with your friends too!

Oh and yes, Punch Cards have also made a return to Fortnite Season 8!

And that's it for us. We'll see you again in two weeks! Happy hunting.
