What To Expect In The Fortnite 17.21 Update

This is probably the first time that we're seeing two consecutive updates within the span of a week in Fortnite. Epic Games has been talking about the Fortnite 17.21 update for a while now.

Since this is a follow up update, I'm not expecting too many additions with it. But you never know. The Fortnite 17.20 update was slightly all over the place, so this might just fill up the gaps from the previous update.

July 26 [11pm BST] -

Epic Games has confirmed the release of the Fortnite 17.21 update. The official Fortnite Status account has confirmed that Fortnite v17.21 is scheduled for release on July 27.

"In preparation for the update, services will be disabled starting at approx. 03:30 AM ET (07:30 UTC)."

Downtime will likely last several hours. More to follow.

Release date and time

As per recent information, the Fortnite 17.21 update is on the staging servers. We could expect the update to arrive on July 27th, which is also a Tuesday.

As for the time, we're not sure yet. We'll update this bit once we have more information on the time of the update.

What to expect in the Fortnite 17.21 update?

It's really difficult to say what to expect and what not to expect. Everything in this list is a mix of educated guesses and speculations, so take it with a pinch of salt.

#1 August Crew Pack

We still have no extensive information about the Fortnite August Crew pack. That being said, the Foundation most probably won't be the skin for the August Crew pack either.

Data miner Hypex believes that the skin for the month of August would be Ava. She's related to Meowscles in some capacity.

Ava or not, the Fortnite 17.21 update will contain more information about the Fortnite August Crew pack.

#2 The Ariana Grande Skin/Concert

We've heard a lot about the Ariana Grande concert in Fortnite. It's evident that the concert will bring along her skin into the game as well.

That being said, since the concert has been tested by the developers already, I think we'll be seeing more information related to the concert become available in the Fortnite 17.21 update.

#3 The GRAB-ITRON

It looks like the Gravity Gun saw in the opening cinematic of Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 7 will finally be coming to the game in 17.21.

Dubbed the GRAB-ITRON, the gun will allow players to pick up and thrown objects similar to a Saucer's tractor beam.

#4 Fancy Mothership stuff

I don't really have any other way to describe this. The Mothership will apparently be able to create rift zones on the island.

You'll have all sorts of zones, from ice slides to prop disguises, this beam from the mother ship will be able to do it all.

I'm not really sure what this is supposed to mean in the first place, so we just might as well wait for the Fortnite 17.21 update to arrive before we make a comment on this one.

That being said, I don't think we'll be seeing anything major in this next update. Unless of course Coral Castle finally gets destroyed. I love the little coral buddies, but sorry Coral Castle needs to go.

This major map change was scheduled to happen soon. I think Epic Games will pull the plug on the POI after the upcoming update.

Or, we could have the Ariana Grande concert and the Mothership could destroy Coral Castle right when the concert ends. It'll be pretty dramatic, but hey who doesn't like a little bit of drama in their lives?

That's all we have on the Fortnite 17.21 update. We'll keep updating this bit as and when we have more information on it.
