The Fortnite 17.10 update is almost here. And just like every other season, we do not have the patch notes for this update either. We strictly need to rely on whatever the data miners are able to dig out of the new files.

Based upon the tweets from Fortnite in the past few days, we're sure of a few things that will be a part of the 17.10 update. We'll also be seeing a few bug fixes, as indicated by the Fortnite Community Trello.

Here's everything we know about the Fortnite 17.10 update.

Fortnite 17.10 Release Date

The Fortnite 17.10 update is scheduled to go live tomorrow, i.e., June 22nd. According to the tweet on the Fortnite Status page, downtime begins at 03:30 AM ET (07:30 UTC).

Update Size

Since this is the first update of the season, I'm sure this update won't be a heavy one. The size of the update will also differ from platform to platform.

Nintendo Switch: 1 GB

PC: 2.21 GB (Will vary)

PS4 : 4.13 GB (Will vary)

Bug Fixes

As listed on their Trello Board, here are the bug fixes that we'll be seeing with the Fortnite 17.10 update:

  • Battle Royale:
    • Taking damage through cars while in motion.
    • Ability to change the loot pools in battle labs.
    • Missing entries in the Character Collection book.
    • Saucers may become inoperable if a beamed object falls on it.
  • Creative:
    • Rounds not reporting correct placements.
    • Infinite loading while flying out of the island.
    • HUD Controller device join in progress.
    • Images are cut off in the discover tab.
  • Save The World:
    • Melee hits don't register on melee weapons.
    • Saurian Vigor perk stops working after respawning.

Arena Resets

The arrivial of the Fortnite 17.10 update marks the end of the pre-competitive season. Arena points will be reset once the update is live.

Hotfixes

The string for alien parasites has been updated. Data miners believe that this feature will be enabled either this week, or with the next update.

The string now reads as follows:

An Alien Parasite has attached to you! Enjoy enhanced mobility in exchange for some health!

Alien Parasites detach and ignore you for a few seconds if you touch fire, water, or enter a prop.

Fortnite Crew

The Crew blings got a new string update as well. You'll be able to unlock new styles for these crew blings for each month you subscribe to Fortnite Crew. This legacy set is all prepped to roll out from next month.

Also, The Foundation might be the next Fortnite Crew Pack skin.

New NPCs

We'll probably be seeing two new NPCs in the Fortnite 17.10 update. The first one is the Summer Alien, and the second one is Summer Brutus. The former will be spawning at Steamy Stacks while the latter will be spawning at Believer Beach.

Both these NPCs will be related to the Cosmic Summer Celebration in Fortnite.

New Event

The Cosmic Summer Celebration event in Fortnite is a short two-week long event. There will be a few event specific challenges, and rewards for loopers who participate in the event.

Just like the NBA event, a part of this summer event will be held in creative mode as well. Here are the challenges.

Here are the rest of the challenges for the Cosmic Summer event.

New Loading Screens

Fortnite got a huge buff in terms of loading screens. But do keep your eyes peeled. Most of these loading screens foreshadow what's coming in the game.

The lobby has also received a nice little summer update. Here's how it looks.

Weekly Challenges

We finally have the weekly challenges for the next two weeks as well. But do note, the Fortnite legendary challenges go live every Wednesday, while the epic challenges go live every Thursday.

Here are how the legendary quests look for the next four weeks.

New Weapons

We're in for a treat when it comes to new weapons. A good number of them have been added with this update. If they're not live when the servers go live, rest assured they'll be in game in a couple of days.

  • Alien Nanites: Generates an alien biome for a short duration.
  • Alien Knockback launcher: Has a knockback effect.
  • Zyg and Choppy's Ray Gun (Mythic): Emits a deadly ray.
  • Inflat-a-bull: It's an inflatable item that protects you from fire, and helps you bounce off cliffs.

Weapon Changes

The marking duration for the recon scanner has been reduced to 10 seconds. Further more, it now recharges in 20 seconds instead of 15 seconds.

New Skins and Cosmetics

The Fortnite Thanos skin will make it's way to the item shop on July 26th. Not only that, a bunch of other summer outfits made their way into Fortnite with the 17.10 update.

The summer skins are quite interesting. They will increase in "goldness" as you complete more challenges. Once you've completed all the challenges, you'll have a gold slider to select the amount of goldness you'd want on the skin.

Here's a full list of all the new cosmetics that were added to the game in this update.

Map Changes

Two new codenames for POIs have been added in Fortnite. The first one is known as "HollyHatchery" and the second one is known as "Skyfire".

Since we've been told that there's a way into the mothership, Skyfire could be the code for the mothership. Here's how it looks on the inside of the mothership.

Also, is that Lucky Landing I spot in there? Not just Lucky Landing, even Butter Barn seems to be inside the mothership. You also have a few loot rooms within the confines of the mothership.

You'll also be affected by low gravity inside the mothership.

The mothership will also deploy UFOs called abductors, and they'll be kidnapping loopers into the mothership. This feature isn't in competitive.

Apparently, Pleasant Park has been attacked by the aliens. There is some kind of a vortex in place now.

New LTMs

There's a new LTM dubbed as skyfire in the files. Now skyfire happens to be the codename for the mothership as well. These two are probably co-related but we'll know more about this once the event goes live. Here are the list of all the new Creative LTMs that are going live after the Fortnite update today.

Finally, the 50v50 LTM was also updated for the competitive mode. Surprisingly, cars are disabled for this mode.

And with that, we come to the end of the patch notes. See y'all again in two weeks!
