Epic Games Announces XP Changes In Fortnite Season 8

Fortnite Season 8 is well underway and most players have already joined the grind to unlock exclusive Battle Pass cosmetics. However, the developers recently announced that the XP gained from the Battle Royale game mode isn't where they would like.

The developers further announced that they are working on improving things with regards to XP earned and players will be able to witness a variety of improvements once these changes are implemented.

Given that update 18.10 for Fortnite Season 8 is scheduled to release on 2nd October, the developers have said that they will be revealing the changes on 28th September.

XP Changes in Fortnite Season 8

Considering the fact that Fortnite Season 8 started with Punch Cards instead of the usual Epic and Legendary quests, players have been facing a lot of trouble when it comes to accumulating XP. Although there are various other methods to farm XP in Fortnite, playing numerous games in the Battle Royale mode while completing challenges has always been the prime source of XP.

However, the concept of Punch Cards has seen a notable decline in the amount of XP earned by players. Owing to this issue, the developers are working on improving the amount of XP earned in the Battle Royale mode.

Following the release of update 18.10, Epic Games has revealed the official list of XP changes that are being implemented in Fortnite Season 8.

These changes include:

  • XP earned from Daily Punchcard missions has been notably increased
  • All shared quests now offer XP as a completion reward
  • All new and future NPC Punchcards will now feature a substantial boost on the amount of XP offered
  • Weekly Punchcard XP has been slightly reduced to lessen the setback received for not completing them.

Given that these changes are currently live in Fortnite Season 8, it will be interesting to see how it affects the leveling up procedure for the seasonal Battle Pass.

XP Changes in Impostors Mode

Earlier this week, Epic Games announced that players will now receive upto 50% less XP in the Impostors Mode LTM available in Fortnite Season 8.

Having said that, it seems certain that the developers want players to earn most of their XP from the Battle Royale mode instead of LTMs of the Creative mode.
