How Do I Play Foodle?

Once you load onto the Foodle website, the chances are you'll instinctively already know how to play. It's a five-letter guessing game very similar to Wordle, just with a more limited vocabulary of possible answers.

As the name suggests, it's all geared around food, ranging from actually food items to terms linked around restaurants and cooking. That makes it varied enough to always require some deep thought.

On the page, you'll be greeted with a blank grid of five individual tiles. Simply type in a food-related word of your choice and hit enter. It then brings up several different colours, based on each letter's place within the word.

Grey means it isn't in the word, orange means it's there but in a different position, and green means it's exactly where it's meant to be. You have a total of six guesses to get the answer right, and hopefully boost your daily streak!

What Is The Best Starting Food In Foodle?

With just six guesses to narrow down the entire range of food-based terms, you'll want to start off with a good choice. Therefore, we recommend picking a word that contains a lot of vowels, to get some orange and perhaps even green tiles in the early stages.

As such, we've got a few good starting words: BREAD, SOUPS, and LADLE. Each of these terms contain a good amount of vowels, and SOUPS in particular is useful due to its placement of the S. If the target word is plural, then you've already banked yourself a green tile!

Can I Play Previous Foodle Challenges?

Once you've completed today's Foodle puzzle, you very well may want to do another. Sometimes just one isn't enough, but luckily there's quite an easy way to unlock even more.

All you need to do is change the calendar settings on your device, to make it think you're playing on a different day. Head into your settings, tweak the date, and refresh the Foodle website. That should bring up a blank grid, so you can play a challenge from days in the past or future. Just remember to put the date back to the present once you're done!

That's it for our Foodle word guide! We've gone through how to play the game, as well as how you can get some more puzzles under your belt. Once you're done, why not check out our Wordle 2 word guide and Quordle word list for even more word-guessing fun?
