According to the official FF7FS Twitter page, this holiday event will be live after the December 7 patch. The only confirmed changes for this update will be the Holiday event and some bug fixes. Maintenance starts on 6:00 p.m PST and ends on 10:00 p.m. PST.

Square Enix hasn't revealed a full content list for this holiday event. So far, the official Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier website lists that some of the map's areas will be changed to follow the holiday theme of the event. The promotional poster with the announcement showcases festive costumes, headgear, and even a rifle on release.
