Final Fantasy 7 Remake PS4 Update 1.01 Patch Notes Finally Revealed After Six Month Wait

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake was released in April 2020. The 10th of April to be precise.

That's just over 6 months ago.

Yet remarkably, Square Enix has only just now released the games first-ever update.

There's been no bug fixes, no quick patches to tweak anything to the game. Nothing, nada, zip. Then out the blue they drop the 1.1 update in October.

Unbelievable.

Even when the game launched, it seemed pretty obvious that the title had it's moments where textures just looked outright bad.

Not that Final Fantasy 7 Remake was a 'bad looking game', far from it, but lordy it took the biscuit now and again.

Somewhat annoyingly, this first patch for the game still doesn't appear to fix any of those problems. Maybe we'll just have to wait for the PC release. Instead, it focuses on crashing issues, freezing and more issues.

The latest update shouldn't take up too much space on your PS4, with a small 141MB download required for this latest patch.

You'll find the full notes on what's been addressed in the new 1.01 update, just below.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Update 1.01 Patch Notes

  • Addressed freezing and frame rate drop issues
