FIFA 22 will be heading to the market later this year, but they have been struck another huge blow as far as their Serie A prospects are concerned.
Konami and Pro Evolution Soccer have penned an exclusive deal with Napoli. But what does that mean in terms of their appearance within the FIFA franchise?
Here is everything you need to know.
Napoli sign exclusive Konami deal
Konami - the developers behind FIFA's main rival, Pro Evolution Soccer - have been busy behind the scenes securing themselves more exclusive deals.
And, after penning deals with Juventus and AS Roma in recent years, they have added another Serie A giant to the mix in the form of Napoli.
The Gli Azzurri will be joining the PES partner clubs group on a exclusive deal from the 2022/23 season.
Will Napoli feature in FIFA 22?
The short answer is yes.
With the deal not beginning until the start of the 2022/23 season, AFTER the release of FIFA 22, EA are still well within their rights to use the Serie A side within their game.
We don't know about you, but we can feel a Napoli Career Mode coming on next year!
What does this mean for FIFA 23 and beyond?
Well as we have seen with the likes of Piemonte Calcio, EA are going to have to switch things up a little bit.
The Napoli badge, kits and stadium will be exclusive to the Pro Evo franchise, whilst FIFA will still be able to use the real life faces of Napoli's stars, but they won't be entitled to update them.
Let's hope that Lorenzo Insigne doesn't change his hairstyle so much in the future, because that could get a little annoying!
