FIFA 22: Is The PC Version Based On Next-Gen?


FIFA 22 has been revealed, and yes, Nintendo Switch owners are getting the short end of the straw with another "Legacy Edition".

What of PC players, though? FIFA 21 on PC was based on the PS4 and Xbox One versions, but the PC didn't have the benefit of an upgrade to the new, next-gen versions with added bells and whistles.

Is that still the case with the PC version of FIFA 22?

Much has been made of the new Hypermotion Technology powering the Xbox Series S/X and PS5 versions of FIFA 22, but the Xbox One and PS4 versions won't enjoy the same benefits.

Unfortunately, nor will the PC version, as it'll be based on the last-gen versions.

Bizarrely, the Google Stadia version will be based on the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X versions, with all the additions that come with that. It's undoubtedly a tough pill to swallow for PC gamers.
