FIFA 22 Free Next-Gen Upgrade Not Included In Standard Edition
Introduced in FIFA 21, Dual Entitlement is the scheme that allows players who purchase current generation copies of the game to upgrade their copy to next-generation consoles, completely free.
During its announcement, two editions were showcased for FIFA 22: Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition. While listing notable differences between both editions, what particularly stood out was Dual Entitlement being available exclusively for the Ultimate Edition.
This means that if football enthusiasts purchase the FIFA 22 Standard Edition for PS4 or Xbox One X|S and want to upgrade their copies to next-gen consoles, they will need to buy the game again for their aforementioned platforms (PS5 or Xbox Series X|S).
This marks a change from FIFA 21, where Dual Entitlement was included with all versions and editions of the title.
The sports phenomenon will continue this fall, emphasizing tactical AI, unique Hypermotion technology, and additions to Ultimate Team with FUT Heroes. Crossplay is also expected for the next footballing sensation.
