The countdown to Christmas has begun in FIFA 22's Ultimate Team with a brand new festive promotion landing in-game.
Entitled FUT Versus, the new promotion will pit fire versus ice in a battle of upgrades. It replaces the usual FUT Freeze promotion that has featured over the course of the last two releases.

Team Ice has arrived in FIFA 22's Ultimate Team.
The upgrades have been switched, with each player from the initial release now recieving a second card for you to ponder over.

The second of the two FUT Versus squads is set to land in FIFA 22 today!
As we already know, the same batch of players will arrive with an alternative card to the Fire versions that we saw on Friday evening.
You can expect the squad to land in FIFA 22 at the usual time of 1pm ET / 6pm GMT.

Team Fire has landed in FIFA 22.
The leaks from throughout the day proved accurate, with Gabriel Jesus, Marcus Rashford and Joe Gomez all featured in a stacked release.

Christmas itself isn't until December 25th, but EA aren't going to wait that long to start bringing the festivities to their FIFA title.
The promotion began on Friday, December 10th with the arrival of Team 1 aka Team Fire, whilst the second squad is set to arrive on Monday, December 13th.
What is the FUT Versus Promotion?
FUT Versus is a brand new promotion that landed in FIFA 22 this year.
The promo pits players up against themselves in a battle of fire versus ice, with the players upgraded in a Player Pick style format.
Team Fire, which was released on Friday December 10th, brought 11 cards to Ultimate Team, all of which saw one of their six key attributes upgraded.
Team Ice, which will arrive on Monday, December 13th, will see the same 11 cards released, but with a different statistical upgrade.
