FIFA 21: Kylian Mbappe Ligue 1 POTM Review - Cost, Upgraded Ratings, Links and Everything You Need to Know

Kylian Mbappe is the Ligue 1 POTM, and as a result, the Frenchman has been awarded a brand new card in Ultimate Team.

Mbappe has been handed an upgrade of +2 compared to his base card, but has also seen his position changed due to recent performances in real life.

He won't come cheap, but is he worth the asking price?

POTM Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe is one of the most overpowered, meta forwards in FIFA 21's Ultimate Team.

This is the fourth special item that Mbappe has recieved this year, and the second highest rated behind his 97-rated TOTY card.

Though despite his upgraded ratings, the PSG man has been switched to a LW position due to the fact he's been playing out on the flank for his club in recent weeks.

There's no question that it's a great card, but is it an SBC that you should be looking to complete?

Upgrades

There is a range of upgrades to look at here.

We'll compare Mbappe to his 90-rated base card, and in doing so you'll notice +4 to his passing (82 OVR), +3 to his shooting (89 OVR) and +3 to his physicality (79 OVR)

The French wonderkid has seen noticeable upgrades to his pace (98 OVR) and his dribbling (93 OVR).

There has been no changes to the weak foot or skill moves, which remain at 5* and 4* respectively.

Mbappe being a winger makes him slightly more difficult to link, given the fact he now can't be directly linked to his partner in crime - Neymar Jr.

Instead you'll be looking for club and country links from the left side of the field, which include the following:

Those who completed the Layvin Kurzawa SBC earlier this year will be rubbing their hands together in joy, with the LB picking up a perfect link with his fellow club and countryman.

FUT Freeze SBC card Marquinhos is one to consider as a left centre midfielder to up the links in this side, whilst those with a little extra cash could look to the inform, CAM Neymar Jr.

Fellow February POTM nominee Wissam Ben Yedder is a good choice if you're looking for a striker to link to Mbappe, as he will pick up a green link due to his nationality.

France

If you're looking for Frenchman to link to Mbappe, then you won't be spoiled for choice.

Verdict

It's a great card, but only for those who aren't on a tight budget.

Around two million coins for an untradeable card at this stage of FIFA seems crazy, though if you do want Mbappe as a LW as opposed to a striker, you may not get a better choice.

The fact he directly clashes with Neymar Jr in the position is frustrating, and for that reason, we're going to recommend you stick with a centralised version of Mbappe.
