FUT Birthday Mangala

Mangala was a cheap beast back in FIFA 13, as a fresh faced 77 OVR.

Maybe his FIFA ability was what caused Manchester City to splash £30M on the Frenchman some 12 months later!

Now his FUT Birthday card is nowhere near as cheap as his FUT 13 card was, but he's certainly retained that overpowered ability!

Here is everything you need to know if you're thinking of adding Mangala to your FUT setup!

Mangala's career hasn't taken off in the way that many thought it would back in 2013, so the upgrades are quite signifcant compared to his 74-rated base card.

In fact, all but one of his base stats have been boosted by double figures:

  • Pace 80 OVR (+21)
  • Shooting 50 OVR (+8)
  • Passing 78 OVR (+25)
  • Dribbling 76 OVR (+25)
  • Defending 86 OVR (+12)
  • Physicality 90 OVR (+10)

The pace boost is arguably the most important as far as the current FIFA 21 meta goes.

Though with a 5* weak foot on his new card, the +25 to Manga's dribbling and passing is very significant.

Every area of Mangala's game has improved massively, and it makes for an incredible end result.

This Eliaquim Mangala SBC will set you back 235,000 coins on PlayStation, 225,000 coins on Xbox and 260,000 coins on PC.

It's a fair investment for a centre back at this stage of FIFA, but with the boosted stats and that 5* weak foot, he should provide great value.

Another huge bonus as far as Mangala goes is the fact that he has so many great links available in Ultimate Team.

Whether it's league, nation or both, you have options aplenty.

As far as centre back partners go, there is one extremely obvious option: Raphael Varane.

The Real Madrid man is arguably the best centre back in FIFA 21, and with a strong link to Mangala, they will be VERY hard to get past. Joules Kounde provides a cheaper, strong link option if you can't afford Varane.

Ferland Mendy is the obvious left back link, with his FUT Birthday card also available if you can afford the extra cash. We'd look to fellow FUT Birthday star Junior Sambia as a right back option if you are playing Mangala as a RCB.

You'll also need a link to a goalkeeper. We'd recommend Tottenham's Hugo Lloris, which works well if you're looking for a La Liga/BPL hybrid.

Yes he's a little pricey, but this looks to be a very good card.

His 5* weak foot shouldn't be undervalued, whilst the ease in which you can build Mangala into a side is a massive bonus.

Many won't want to invest 200,000 coins worth of fodder into a defender at this stage of FIFA and that's understandable.

But this looks to be a great card who offers something a little different. We'll be picking him up.
