Gfinity and War Child UK join forces for the War Child FC Championship

Gfinity has joined forces with War Child UK to bring their first ever FIFA 18 tournament to life!

War Child protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children in war. 2018 marks their 25th birthday and as part of the celebrations they are launching a new programme combining their existing psychosocial support methodology with the health and social benefits of football. The new programme is called War Child FC and is launching in Central African Republic this year with plans to open in Gaza and Jordan in 2019.

War Child FC is a football club with a difference: a club whose definition of success isn’t trophies won, victories over rivals or league positions, it’s supporting children whose lives have been torn apart by war. This new programme is combining football coaching, life skills and psychological support to help children recover from the effects of conflict.

Gfinity & War Child will be hosting a special FIFA 18 event this Thursday, August 16th, at the Gfinity Arena in London and LIVE streamed on the Gfinity Twitch channel.

Named the War Child FC Championship, the event will have have celebrities pairing with pro FIFA players to help raise money for children affected by war. The winning teams will also be the first ever War Child FC FIFA champions.

Three of the most well known esports teams have already confirmed presence: Envy, FNATIC and ExceL 

The Championship starts at 4 PM BST. Join us for this very special occasion!
