We’re getting not one Far Cry Netflix show, but two.

Ubisoft and Netflix announced the Far Cry anime and Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix anime based on the Far Cry 3 spinoff called Blood Dragon.

Variety’s exclusive report on the Far Cry Netflix series describes them as “adult anime,” in the same vein as the Castlevania Netflix series.

Both adaptations are still early in development.

Variety said the team for the Far Cry anime series is still being put together.

The Blood Dragon anime is a little further on in production, though.

Here’s everything we know about the Far Cry Netflix shows.

Far Cry Netflix Release Date

The first Far Cry anime series is likely still a ways away since the team is still being assembled.

We don’t know about the Blood Dragon anime’s release date yet, though it’s already been given a six-episode order.

Far Cry Netflix Plot

The first Far Cry show’s plot is a bit vague. Variety only said it’s based on the game series, so it could be like The Witcher and pull from multiple aspects of the broader plot.

The Blood Dragon anime will presumably follow the Blood Dragon game, which is set in the ‘80s and features alter egos of the game’s characters.

Far Cry Netflix Cast and Crew

The first Far Cry anime show production team includes three Ubisoft executives: Hélène Juguet, Hugo Revon, and Gérard Guillemot.

Blood Dragon’s creator is Adi Shankar (Power/Rangers, The Voices), and Guillemot, Juguet, and Revon will play key roles in its production as well.

No cast has been announced yet.
