The Ubisoft Far Cry 6 gameplay reveal featured the Far Cry 6 release date. Far Cry 6 will release October 7.

It also offered an in-depth look at Far Cry 6 gameplay, including some fantastic shots of Giancarlo Esposito as Anton Castillo, as well as the volatile island nation of Yara and the Far Cry 6 main character.

Welcome To The Jungle

As we knew already, Yara is split between the pro-government faction supporting Castillo and the so-called terrorists who want to take back their home.

The segment introduced Dani Rojas, a freedom fighter determined to take her vengeance on Castillo after he ordered the death of hundreds of her comrades.

She’s the main character, though you can choose male Dani and female Dani, and also the driving force behind Yara’s guerrilla war. Get a glimpse at Dani and some of her comrades in the Far Cry 6 character trailer below:

Guerrilla Glue

Far Cry 6 is all about guerrillas. In fact, Ubisoft called it a “guerilla fantasy" designed to make you feel like you’re one fighter against a thousand.

Some of the game revolves around finding other guerrillas to augment your team's blind spots, including Juan Cortez, the so-called guerrilla teacher.

Cortez instructs Dani, and us, on the guerrilla lifestyle, including staying incognito, establishing safe havens, trading for weapons, and even modifying vehicles in some gloriously outlandish ways.

Cortez also introduced some of Far Cry 6’s biomes, including the capitol city, swamps, and suburban areas. You can find age-old paths, travel by horse, and behave as you see fit -- as long as you don’t stand out too much.

Since Far Cry 6 is a guerrilla game, you’ll be using plenty of unorthodox methods to achieve your goals, from turning sardine cans into weapons to modifying your guns with whatever you have at hand, including CD launchers.

Finally, you get Far Cry 6 pets as well, and while it’s not clear what function they serve yet, we know we must protec at all costs.
