Fall Guys: Cheater Island Pitted Hackers Against Each Other

Mediatonic recently took to Twitter on their Fall Guys account to comment on the ongoing cheating in the game.

Due to their anti-cheat software, it was allowing those who were cheating to be on a sort of "Cheater Island".

It looks like there will be big changes to the anti-cheats system in the next update.

Cheaters Island

The Fall Guys Twitter account explains that Mediatonic had released Fall Guys with its own anti-cheat system.

This software would acknowledge those cheating but wouldn't actually ban them.

They then decided to create the Cheater Island, described as "a magical place where cheaters could happily compete against themselves for the Cheater's Crown,"

The cheaters crown is meant to be "literally just a normal crown but tainted with a hollow feeling of guilt and regret".

Overall Mediatonic has been tweaking their anti-cheat so that cheaters would be identified then in their next game would be placed into a queue for Cheater Island.

The funniest part of all of this was that there weren't enough cheaters around at the same time to populate the Cheater Island.

Instead, they would be stuck in the matchmaking screen, forever falling.

Those who took to Twitter and other social platforms to complain that they were trapped in limbo were actually revealing themselves as cheaters.

Things took a turn and a Cheater Island match was actually populated! Many videos have surfaced showing complete chaos (above).

Due to the way these matches made Fall Guys look, Mediatonic made the decision to get rid of Cheater Island.

They have since announced that they will be using Epic's anti-cheat software in their next update.

"Our cheat detection system was good," they stated, "but we hadn't expected so many players... and we had no idea the lengths that some players would go to cheat".

We look forward to seeing how this new system will keep Fall Guys a fun and fair game.
