Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has given an update on the upcoming Fable from Playground Games, and has moved to assuage fan concerns about the open-world RPG being developed by the team of racing game veterans.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Dropped Frames Podcast, Spencer notes that fans should put their faith in Playground Games, noting the "pedigree of the team" that was highlighted during Forza Horizon 5's development.

Unfortunately, the head of Xbox didn't have much more to say about Fable 4's development other than praising the studio. However, we already know that it will be released on the Xbox Series X and PC at some point and that it will be developed on the same engine as Forza Motorsport.

There have been numerous rumors surrounding Fable 4 since it was announced, including one that the new Fable will be an MMO set in the Fable universe. That doesn't sound like it's entirely true, though, and with Playground Games still hiring writers as late as October 2019, it could be a few years before we see anything else about the game.
