After some delays, we're finally getting close to the release of Evil Dead The Game, developed by Saber Interactive. Diving into the action with some friends is likely to be a lot of fun, so you'll want to do so as soon as possible. We're here to break down all of the Evil Dead release time details, including whether or not you're able to preload the game ahead of release.
Based on the classic movie franchise, it's a multiplayer survival horror in the style of the ill-fated Friday the 13th game from a few years ago. It'll be filled with brutal kills, and you'll need to plan ahead if you're hoping to survive.
If you're after more details on the game before it is out, we have guides on how Evil Dead crossplay works, whether it's on Xbox Game Pass, and if you're able to play Evil Dead solo at all. It's a surprisingly complicated subject at launch.
Evil Dead Release Time Confirmed
To make everyone's lives easier, the Evil Dead release time has been confirmed by the game's official Twitter account ahead of time. We know exactly when the game will release in the UK and US, and it's not a straightforward midnight launch like is the case for most games in the digital age.
The Evil Dead release time is set for 7am PST / 10am EST / 3pm BST on May 13, for all platforms. If anything changes with that, or there are server issues once the game goes live, we'll be sure to let you know.
Evil Dead Preload Details
So that you can jump into the action as soon as possible, Saber Interactive has set up preload options for Evil Dead.
Thankfully, the Evil Dead preload period went live on May 11, so you can download the game now to ensure it's ready for release time on May 13.
By doing that, you won't have to waste any time waiting for it to download as everyone else is jumping in and starting to get to grips with the game before you. You don't want to miss out, do you?
Download Size Details
We haven't been able to confirm it for ourselves just yet, but it seems like the download size for Evil Dead is going to be nice and small.
According to @PlayStationSize on Twitter, who has been correct many times in the past, the download size of Evil Dead will be around 5GB, which is smaller than expected.
This size was revealed a couple of weeks ago, however, so there's every chance that it has changed since. As soon as we're able to do so, we'll provide the precise size for all platforms.
That 5GB patch download was without any Day One patches. If there does happen to be one, expect another download to kick in a few hours before launch. The pre-load should be the bigger of the bunch, but you never really know these days.
If you've preordered the game yourself, you should be able to check out the download size when you preload.
