Cyberpunk 2077 is full of awesome iconic weapons, that will grow and develop as your character does. Night City has a lot to offer!

Amongst all the weapons available in CD Projekt Red's latest RPG, there is one pistol that seems to be a favourite amongst players. This unique pistol is called Skippy. A weird name for a weird gun. Who, might we add, also talks to you.

In Cyberpunk 2077, Skippy can be unlocked as soon as you reach Act 2 of the game. But how do you get your hands on him?

In this guide, we explain where to find Skippy in Cyberpunk 2077, some of the weapon's story, and how to get it back in patch 2.0.

Where to find Skippy pistol in Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077's Skippy pistol can be found in the Vista Del Rey suburb of Night City. More specifically, on a random dead body in an alleyway around eastern Heywood, home of the Valentino's.

As soon as Heywood unlocks when you reach Act 2 of Cyberpunk 2077, you can head to the area, and you’ll be able to see a Side Job marked on the map. If you follow the quest marker, you will find an alley that you can gain access to by climbing the fences and rubbish at either end.

Once you're in the alley, Skippy can be found on a random dead body. Pick up the gun, and it’ll become yours after a short conversation. Which, might we add, includes some singing too. Enjoy!

Which version of Skippy should you pick?

Skippy’s stats are as follows:

  • Smart Pistol
  • 18-22 Damage
  • +13-16 Electrical Damage
  • +12% Crit Chance
  • +19.63% Crit Damage
  • +6% Shock Chance
  • 2 Headshot Damage Multiplier
  • Scales to the user’s level
  • Two Empty Mod Slots

As a smart weapon, Skippy will focus on the targets you choose. You can pick one of two modes for Skippy when you find them, though take note, pick the opposite of what you want long-term!

This is because you can pick either Pacifist or Killer for the gun, but after earning 50 eliminations, the weapon will swap to the other mode permanently. Neither is really better nor worse, but just make sure you choose wisely, as there is no changing it.

Who is Skippy’s original owner in Cyberpunk 2077?

After a few in-game days, Skippy will reveal their original owner to you, though we won’t spoil it here. The name will be familiar to you, so it’s worth waiting!

Once you find out, you can go and return their gun to them in exchange for a Eurodollars reward. Before patch 2.0, Skippy would be unrecoverable after choosing this option. This has now changed with the latest update.

How to recover Skippy

In patch 2.0, Skippy can be recovered but it will not have the quirky AI anymore. Regina Jones will message you about getting the "little choom with the moody trigger" back. You can find it back at her place sitting on a desk when you arrive via the elevator.
