The next Valorant update will be releasing sometime soon as far as we know.

Patch 1.09 is expected to address some much-needed issues, including those pesky hitbox issues.

Now, a Riot developer has outlined all of the changes coming to the game's best weapon.

Here they are!

Team Liquid professional player and streamer Mendo conducted an interview with Nick Wu Smith who is one of the developers behind Valorant.

During this interview, they talked about numerous topics, but there was a significant discussion around the Operator.

Compared to the AWP from CS:GO, this weapon is known for its one-hit kill potential, but it appears Riot is unhappy with the way the gun is working now.

There will be major changes to the Operator, and some of them are rather large in comparison to other weapon changes we have seen in the past.

One of the more notable ones is the reduced leg shot damage for the Operator.

It will be getting a seven damage nerf, bringing it down from 127 to 120.

This means you can only buy half armor and still survive a leg shot from the sniper.

Dexerto was able to capture all of the changes coming to the Operator in patch 1.09.

  • Price 4500 to 5000
  • Scope Movement Speed 76% to 72%
  • Scope Deadzone 30% to 50% movement speed - inaccurate aiming sooner after moving, slowly become accurate after 2.2 seconds.
  • Fire Rate 0.75 to 0.6
  • Equip Time 0.3s to 0.5s
  • Leg Shot 127 dmg to 120 dmg
  • Jump Land Accuracy -> slightly longer inaccuracy time after landing from a jump

Of course, Nick gave some reasoning behind the changes coming to the Operator.

"It feels more like OP is overperforming in aggressive, offensive use cases"

"Players have gotten really good at peeking with this weapon, and I think it's overperforming in a way that's getting really frustrating and it feels like there's not a lot you can do about it."

It is unknown how these changes are going to affect the overall meta of Valorant.

We can assume players will still rely on this weapon, but not as much as before!
