Microsoft has announced that the Halo World Championship prize pool has hit another milestone, thanks to you, the community!

Through the continued support of crowdfunding via in-game REQ Pack purchases, the Halo World Championship prize pool has grown by a substantial $1,500,000.

As a result, the Halo World Championship prize pool currently sits at an impressive $2,500,000, which, as Xbox Wire states, is “the biggest individual prize pool in console eSports history”.

This means one of the final sixteen teams will walk away with a guaranteed total of $1 Million!

In addition to this, according to a report by Venture Beat, the Halo World Championship also possesses the largest prize pool of any first-person shooter, as well as the seventh largest prize pool in eSports history.
