PS5 DualSense Controller Battery Is Similar To The DualShock 4

Next-generation gaming is something many have been looking forward to, and there are some fantastic launch titles for the PS5.

One aspect of the console, that has been receiving mountains of praise is the DualSense controller.

This is the part of the PS5 that many are describing as truly next-gen, as the haptic feedback is taking over the gaming world.

Now, some new discoveries about the controller have compared the battery life to its predecessor. 



Similar Battery 

This new discovery comes from Sony themselves, as they have commented on it via their Ultimate FAQ which was posted today.

The question regarding the controller is as follows: 

How long will the DualSense controller last on a full charge? How long will it take to recharge?

Sony has noted the following regarding the DualSense's battery life:


Under most conditions, battery life is expected to be similar to the DualShock 4 wireless controller. Recharging time when connected to PS5 or the DualSense Charging Station is estimated at approximately three hours.

This may surprise some of you, as with the new consoles arriving this week, one would be fair to assume that the new controllers would have a better battery.

But, with all the new features within the controller, it appears the battery is going to be the same.
