Announcing the Serious Rainbow Six Siege Tournament
Today, we’re gassed to finally announce that in association with Jme and Hype Management, we have joined forces to create the Serious Rainbow Six Siege Tournament.
Many Jme fans will already know of his passion for video games and the influence it has had on his own music. This sets up a historic moment for the Grime and eSports scenes, as the co-founder of Boy Better Know teams up with Gfinity!
As expected, the first official ‘Serious’ event will be held on Jme’s notoriously favourite team-based tactical shooter, Rainbow Six Siege, on his favourite console, the Xbox One, and in true eSports fashion, the Serious Rainbow Six Siege Tournament will be held at our very own Gfinity Arena & Studios on September 9th.
This is the perfect opportunity for Grime and Rainbow Six Siege fans to sample the eSports experience in front of a live audience.
The official Serious Rainbow Six Siege online qualifier will take place this weekend, Sunday 28th August, as the best TDM Bomb teams compete for their chance to attend the live event and take on JME's sqaud in the opposing booth!
Alternatively, players can also use our free Tournament Builder app for Xbox One to enter the qualifier.
In announcing the news, Jme said; “I’m online murking just as much as I’m on stage, it was only a matter of time until this happened. I’ve got my team, Headtop, and we’re more than ready.”
Sam Van Tilburgh, Head of Marketing at Gfinity added; “It’s going to be wonderful with Jme and supporting the competitive Rainbow Six community with another platform, with a twist. Bringing music and games together is something we’re keen to explore.”
All the action will be streamed live on Friday 9th September via Gfinity’s Twitch channel and Jme’s YouTube channel.
