Gears Pro Circuit Mexico City Open – Group D Preview

Gears Pro Circuit Mexico City Open – Group D Preview

The Gears Pro Circuit Mexico City Open is fast approaching, as the world’s most talented Gears of War teams prepare for battle at the Auditorio BlackBerry, Mexico City, from January 20th – 22nd. Tickets are now available for purchase!

As the Auditorio BlackBerry undergoes its final preparations ahead of the next stop in the $1million Gears of War Pro Circuit, I’m excited to share my preview of Group C, as eUnitedGG, Team Allegiance and Aztek Gaming collide at the $100,000 USD event.

eUnited came out swinging at the Gfinity Gears London Open, as Demo and co secured an impressive silver medal, only finishing behind OpTic Gaming. However, since the London Open, eUnited have swapped Kyle and Clouts for Echo Fox's Xcells and Soto, in order to aid them in their search for a gold medal in Mexico.

It's no secret that Optic Gaming are currently the dominating force in Gears of War, however, with the addition of Xcells, who performed fantastically during the London Open, I personally believe eUnited are their strongest competition.

However, while I predict that eUnited will dominate Group D, will they be able to break the Green Wall in Mexico? We’ll have to wait and see…

As the local team representing the Latin American region in Group D, Aztek Gaming find themselves facing off against some of the toughest opposition in the competitive Gears of War pro circuit. eUnited and Team Allegiance finished second and third respectively at the Gfinity Gears London Open, and as a result Aztek Gaming are the clear underdogs heading into Group D of the Mexico City Open.

Team Allegiance were on fire during the Gfinity Gears London Open and as a result the North American organisation secured a respectable third place finish, as they knocked Team EnVyUs into fourth.

Due to their recent performance, I believe Team Allegiance will carry over their confidence showed in London, all the way to Mexico City, making them a serious contender for the championship.

Predictions

1st - eUnited 3-0

2nd - Team Allegiance  2-1

3rd - Aztek Gaming 1-2

4th - Open Bracket Team 0-3

Group D is packed full of competition which doesn't bode well for Aztek Gaming. I feel certain that eUnited are going to make it out of the group with the number one seed, while Team Allegiance will take the second.

Who do you think will make it out the group? Let us know in the comments below!
