Elite Series Rocket League - Grand Final Recap

The stage was set. Team Endpoint and Epsilon eSports would battle it out one last time where only one could become Elite Series champion. Let’s recap all the action.

The opening game of the series saw Endpoint with the early aggression and it paid off with Tinny grabbing the opening goal. Epsilon’s Reepex quickly equalised to level the game. Five minutes were over and the game moved into overtime. After just 13 seconds, Cheerio slotted home the winner to give Endpoint a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Endpoint came out with the early offence in game two and it worked once again. Shakharon and Tinny broke through the Epsilon defence to establish a 2-0 lead with plenty of time left on the clock. Alex managed to reduce the deficit with a goal of his own but Tinny responded with his second to put the game out of reach. Endpoint now had a 2-0 lead in the series. Could they perform a 4-0 sweep?

This time it was Epsilon who began the game with the attacking plays and they were immediately rewarded thanks to Alex grabbing the early lead. Alex looked to be in fine form, scoring his second goal to give Epsilon a 2-0 lead. Data sealed the deal with Epsilon’s third goal to secure the victory and becoming one game away from levelling the series.

After losing the previous game, Endpoint began game four on the front foot with Cheerio capitalising to give Endpoint a slender 1-0 lead. Endpoint’s defence was on point for the rest of the game, stopping all forms of an Epsilon attack. Endpoint were now within one game of becoming Elite Series champions, could Epsilon produce the comeback?

The comeback looked to be on for Epsilon thanks to Data and Reepex scoring two quick goals to secure the early lead. Epsilon were staying alive in the series and needed to win the next game to force a deciding game seven.

A huge misplay from Epsilon saw Alex score an own goal to give Endpoint the lead in game six. The momentum looked to be back in favour of Endpoint. A fantastic goal from the halfway line from Cheerio closed out the series for Endpoint.

Endpoint secured a 4-2 victory and the title of Rocket League champions of the Elite Series, taking home £20,000! Congratulations to Endpoint.
