Assassins Creed Valhalla: How To Parry and Dodge Attacks On PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One And PC

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is released all over the world now! 

The new pits you as Eivor, a fierce Viking warrior raised on tales of battle and glory.

Explore a dynamic and beautiful open world set against the brutal backdrop of England’s Dark Ages.

Now, with the game's release; there is an ample amount of new features in place, including some reworking of the combat system.

Odyssey was praised for its excellent combat system, and Valhalla has taken the best aspects of it.

However, it will take some getting used to especially on the defensive side.

Parrying and Dodging are some of the vital features of the combat system, so it is important to get well versed with them.

Here's how to perform them perfectly in Valhalla! 

Controls

Parrying is when you perfectly time your defensive move so that your opponent is stunned.

Doing so will allow you to quickly get the upper hand over your opponent with a massive attack.

This was for a large part the core of Assassin's Creed combat system during the earlier titles.

However, they have implemented new tactics and there seems to be a large emphasis on dodging and timing. 

Dodging is crucial in Valhalla, as you will see an indicator for when your opponent is about to perform a heavy attack.

These for the most part are unblockable attacks, so you will have to dodge them!

If you are playing on console here is how you can dodge and parry: 

Xbox

• X = Dodge/Roll
• LB = Parry

PlayStation

• Square = Dodge/Roll
• L1 = Parry

Over time you will be able to hone and perfect your timing with these mechanics.

So eventually nothing will be able to stop you!
