Apex Legends: FACEIT Pro Series Week 3 Recap

Another Friday of the FACEIT Pro Series for the young esport Apex Legends, this week brought some surprises to the leaderboard with a new champion being crowned this week. Things are looking very optimistic for the future of this game in esports, as recently it was announced that the game would be included at the 2019 X Games.

In contrast to week 2, I don't think anyone would have expected the results to pan out as they did; we crowned TWO new champions, with the results finishing in a tie

What Is The FACEIT Pro Series?

For those who are unaware of what exactly the FACEIT Pro Series is, it is a series of tournaments featuring 16 teams. Fourteen of these teams have been invited by FACEIT and the other two teams qualified through a closed qualifier.

The Pro Series is broken down into eight separate days, also with a unique point system that is reminiscent of Fortnite’s current system. Each elimination will earn you and your team one additional point while the placement points are broken down into tiers:

1st = 10 Points2nd = 5 points3rd = 3 points

For the Alliance!

Week 3 of the FACEIT Pro Series saw a tie a the top of the leaderboard, Sweedish roster Alliance and the North Americans of TSM amassed 432 points each resulting in a tie for Week 3.

In previous weeks, Alliance never found their footing only placing seventh and eleventh; week 3 was different for the roster consisting of  LAZXR, Lowley, and Vaifs. The Swedes amassed 432 points with 312 eliminations, which tied with TSM, who’s roster consists of ImperialHal, HusKers and, Albralelie.

Although TSM eliminated 15 more opponents then Alliance, the latter gained more placement points to result in a tie at the conclusion of Week 3. Fnatic NA was not far behind the two organizations, coming in third with 428 points only four points off the top.
