Back in November 2019, Variety reported that The Witcher had already been renewed for a second season. Netflix was pleased with the show, and it became a hit with audiences, too.

Following some delays in 2020 due to COVID affecting production and infecting cast and crew, Netflix announced Season 2 finally finished filming during GeekedWeek and blessed us with a new trailer.

We have a better idea of the cast and characters now, though a release date is still lost in the murky woods somewhere.

Here's everything we know.

The Witcher Season 2 Plot

Season two’s production title is reportedly “Mysterious Monsters.”

It follows Ciri as she embarks on witch training and sees familiar faces such as Jaskier and Yennefer return.

However, it also pulls from the broader Witcher world.

We'll see Eskel (Thue Ersted Rasmussen) and Coen (Yasen Atour) appear as two more witchers, along with Lydia (Aisha Fabienne Ross) and several other characters.

Netflix is still keeping quiet about the plot, aside from Ciri's training, though the first season left plenty of plot threads to follow up with.

The Witcher Season 2 Returning Cast

Variety reports that all three leads have signed on for more, and we know Joey Batey is returning as Jaskier.

The Witcher Season Three

The Witcher fansite Redanian Intelligence reports that Netflix’s series has already been quietly renewed for a third season.

Now, The Witcher Season Three has been added to the Writers Guild of America database, also spotted by Redanian Intelligence.

Production on the third season will reportedly take place sometime in 2022, barring pandemic-related scheduling shifts.
