NickMercs gave an interview to The Verge and spoke about his rise through the ranks of streamers. The Verge reports that Nickmerc is part-owner of FaZe Clan, although he is never quoted as having said so. In typical cases, interviewers talk separately with those interviewed and discuss random topics that weren’t part of the interview, which may have been something he let slip.
Even Esports Talk mentions and confirms the information, referring to The Verge leaking it, as if it were known only to a few individuals. Now that public information is out there, more and more places are reporting on it, but Nickmercs and FaZe Clan have yet to comment.
NickMercs owning FaZe Clan has been alluded to for the past week
Just the other day, NickMercs was asked on Twitch if he would be a Co-Owner of FaZe Clan. NickMercs gives the camera a look as if there is more to say before moving away. Looking at the clip, it is clear that this has been alluded to for some time.
NickMercs left 100 thieves due to a contract dispute and then moved to FaZe Clan. Many speculated that it was because he was not able to become a co-owner of 100 Thieves. NickMercs has extended his contract with FaZe Clan for another three years, which could have included Co-ownership.
Nick deserves every percentage that he owns
Nickmercs has worked incredibly hard to get to the position that he’s in. He is a well known streamer and arguably on the same level as CourageJD and Valkyrae, who are Co-Owners of 100 Thieves. It just makes sense to make Nickmercs a Co-Owner of FaZe Clan because he gives them a huge boost.
Each day brings a new surprise at FaZe Clan. Many members have stated they wish to sell their pieces of the team just as Nickmercs was revealed to owning a piece. Tomorrow may bring a new surprise, but we’ll be on top of it.
