Will Dragon Quest 1 And 2 Get HD-2D Remakes?

Because of all this Dragon Quest news, fans are more excited about the series’ future now more than ever, especially with the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D remake.

This has made fans wonder if Dragon Quest 1 and Dragon Quest 2 would also be getting HD-2D remakes but it looks like the folks at Square Enix are already thinking ahead.

Series creator Yuji Horii said in an interview (translated by Nintendo Life) has confirmed that they do, in fact, want to make HD-2D remakes of Dragon Quest 1 and 2 but it hasn’t been greenlit yet.

Aside from fans wanting to play all three Dragon Quest titles with gorgeous graphics, the first three titles are part of the Erdrick Trilogy, and being able to play modern remakes of them would be wonderful.

Fans can play all three of these games on the Switch right now, though these are the mobile ports so won’t be to everyone’s liking, but they are cheap and can get fans hyped up for these Dragon Quest HD-2D remakes.

No release date for Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D has been announced, though it will likely come to the PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch, maybe the Xbox One as well.
