Valve Announce The International 10 Will Take Place This Year


Valve has announced that the Dota 2 tournament The International will go ahead this year, after unfortunately having to skip last year due to the global pandemic.

"Let it be known -- the Aegis of Champions is in play once more. After a break necessitated by world events, we're happy to officially announce that The International 10 will take place this August in Stockholm, Sweden."

The event will begin on August 10 and run until August 15th where the grand finals will be held.

One of the biggest draws to The International is always the prize pool. This year Valve has announced that the total prize pool will be $40,018,195.

While planning is still ongoing for this event, and laws changing to accommodate the pandemic, Valve is unable to confirm more details about the event, however, we should expect to hear more information during June.

"Our focus remains on finding ways to hold a high-quality tournament in the safest way possible."

Supporters Clubs is a new way for fans to support their favorite teams and the system is coming in today's update. Players will be able to purchase bundles of badges and seasonal equipables that they can show off in-game.

50% of the sale will go towards the teams that you choose. The content will last until the start of The International and the system will be reintroduced each year and run through the duration of the Majors.

17 teams will be available and you can find the team profiles in the DPC tab.
