Disco Elysium The Final Cut became available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and Google Stadia platforms just this year. Now, with plans to release for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, it was announced that the game's got an 18+ rating by PEGI.
As seen on the tweet by Nibellion, the revamped version of the 2019 RPG by developers ZA/UM will be released with a rating of 18+, also mentioning an August 30th release date for Xbox and Switch. However, it's yet to actually launch on those platforms, but a rating usually indicates a release isn't far off, so we'd expect news soon.
This was supported by PEGI’s statement about their rating for the game which reads:
Violence includes hand-to-hand fights. In one instance a young boy is punched and falls to the floor. The violence is realistic-looking.
Illegal drugs and controlled substances may be consumed, including amphetamines, with references made to their positive effects and with experience points awarded for their use. Tobacco and alcohol may also been consumed, similarly with references to their positive effects.
Other reasons they gave include the game’s use of vulgar language, suicide references, and blood effects. Still, its encouraging to see the game's not far off launch for Xbox and Switch owners, and you can follow us for more news and updates about Disco Elysium The Final Cut.
