UPDATE: - Diablo 3 Season 24 is now live!
Original Story - Diablo 4 might be on the minds of all Diablo fans, but with the next game from Blizzard likely a good few months away, Diablo 3 is still here to satisfy our needs.
Despite being seven years old, Diablo 3 is not getting long in the tooth just yet, and there's plenty of fun to be had from the hack-and-slash action RPG.
If you're just starting out with Diablo (firstly, where have you been?) then you might be wondering which class you should pick for Season 24 which has just started.
Worry not, we've got an up to date Diablo 3 Season 24 Tier List you can read, which sorts your S Tier builds from your F Tier flops. We also have a guide to leveling up fast if you need help with that too.
If the Crusader class has caught your eye and you want to know the best build to use in Season 24, don't you worry. We've got all the key details you'll need just below.
Is The Crusader Good In Diablo 3 Season 24?
Yes, although, its impressiveness might not be as keenly felt in Season 24.
In Season 23, there were only 4 decent S-tier builds available to players, which included the Aegis of Valor Heaven's Fury Crusader build.
For Season 24, it remains an S-Tier option. The only real difference is that there's a lot more S-Tier build options for this new season.
So with that being said, yes, the Crusader is still a top tier pick in Season 24, especially if you go with the old faithful Aegis of Valor Heaven's Fury build.
The Best Crusader Build in Diablo 3 Season 24
The best Crusader build for Diablo 3 Season 24 (patch 2.7.1) is once again, the Aegis of Valor Heaven's Fury Build.
Aegis of Valor Heaven's Fury Crusader Gear Set-up -
You'll need to gather the full Aegis of Valor armour set. Follow the links if you would like a closer look at the stats on the Diablo 3 website:
- Helm: Crown of Valor
- Shoulders: Spaulders of Valor
- Gloves: Gauntlets of Valor
- Chest: Brigandine of Valor
- Boots: Greaves of Valor
Having two pieces in the set means that when attacking with Fists of the Heavens you're empowered, allowing Heaven's Fury to deal 100% increased damage for 5 seconds. Stacks up to 3 times multiplicatively. Having four pieces means that Hitting with Fist of the Heavens returns 5 Wrath and reduces damage taken by 1% for 10 seconds. Stacks up to 50 times. Finally, having six pieces grants an increase in the damage of Fist of the Heavens and Heaven's Fury by 20,000%.
Along with the AoV set, you'll want to equip the following to really maximise your potential:
- Belt: Captain Crimson's Silk Girdle
- Pants: Captain Crimson's Thrust
- Bracers: Bracer of Fury
- Amulet: The Traveler's Pledge
- Ring 1: The Compass Rose
- Ring 2: Convention of Elements
- Weapon: Pig Sticker
- Offhand: Shield of Fury
Best Kanai's Cube Slot Options -
Best Crusader Ethereal Item In Season 24
The new Ethereals are powerful new weapons coming to the game in Season 24. But they are only available in Season 24, so make the most of them whilst you can.
An interesting aspect of these new weapons is that they have no durability and can never break. In addition, Legendary Powers and Class Passive Skills rolled on Ethereals do not stack with the same power equipped through Kanai’s Cube, Items or Skills.
This is easily the best Ethereal option as it provides Holy Damage, Attack Speed and frankly absurd +50% Damage to Demons and Undead
Astreon's Iron Ward isn't a bad option either, especially with Critical Hit Chance and Critical Hit Damage rolls. But The Redeemer is clearly the best option here. If you're now wondering how to farm ethereal weapons in Season 24, don't worry, we've also got a guide for that too. So just follow the link.
Best Active Skills -
*Skill Runes detailed in bold.
- Heaven's Fury with Fires of Heaven
- Fist of the Heavens with Fissure
- Laws of Valor with Unstoppable Force
- Judgment used with Bracer of Fury
- Iron Skin with Flash
- Akarat's Champion with Prophet
Best Passive Skills -
- Fervor - While wielding a one-handed weapon, your attack speed is increased by 15% and all cooldowns are reduced by 15%.
- Holy Cause - The amount of damage dealt by your weapon is increased by 10%. Whenever you deal Holy damage, you heal up to 1% of your total Life.
- Long Arm of the Law - Increase the duration of the Active effect of all Laws by 5 seconds
- Finery - Gain 1.5% Strength for every gem socketed into your gear.
Crusader Aegis of Valor Video Guide
Whilst we could write down all the nitty-gritty details, how about a video, because that's far more interesting.
Have a watch of Diablo expert Rhykker as he runs the rule over this Aegis of Valor build.
This build guide, whilst made for Season 23, is still relevant for Season 24.
Alternative Crusader Builds In Season 24
If you don't fancy running with the Aegis of Valor Heaven's Fury build, there are alternatives for those who want to keep using the Crusader class.
Although they likely won't be anywhere near as well-positioned for Season 24 as the Aegis of Valor Heaven's Fury build, you can also opt for:
- Legacy of Nightmares Bombardment Crusader Build
- Akkhan Invoker Bombardment Crusader Build
Anything other than the two builds named above is likely to be B-Tier or below so might not be worth your time in Season 24.
What Other Class Should You Pick In Season 24?
For argument's sake, you've got to the end of this story and decided 'actually, I don't want to play as the Crusader in Season 24'.
That's fine, well why don't we help you with a look at some of our other best builds in the game, just below.
