Diablo 2 is widely regarded as one of the best games in the entire series.

While Diablo 4 is still in development, a remaster of the second game is sure to excite long-term fans of the franchise, and give newcomers a chance to jump in.

What Is Diablo 2: Resurrected?

Diablo 2: Resurrected is a remaster of the classic action RPG from 2000, and also includes the 2001 Lord of Destruction expansion content.


As for upgrades, the game now runs in high-resolution 3D and has Dolby 7.1 surround sound.

All 27-minutes of cutscenes have been remade entirely, and add controller support and up to eight-player co-op.

Release Date and Open Beta

Diablo 2: Resurrected has a confirmed release date of September 23, 2021.


While there was a single-player alpha, there's a multiplayer beta yet to come at some point in August.

Diablo 2: Resurrected will come to PC, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X.
