If you thought Andariel was tough, the Diablo 2 Resurrected Duriel fight is on a different level entirely. This monster earns his moniker "Lord of Pain," and, worst of all, the fight takes place in a small, enclosed area. Here's how to survive the Diablo 2 Duriel fight.
Diablo 2 Resurrected Duriel | Where to find Duriel
Duriel lies in wait in the Tomb of Tal Rasha, in Tal Rasha's chamber specifically. You'll know it's close when you get the Horadric Cube and craft your Horadric Staff, since the fight takes place shortly after this quest.
Diablo 2 Resurrected Duriel | Duriel Weakness and Tips
Unlike his sister, Duriel has no weaknesses. He does, however, have lower resistance to physical attacks and magic attacks. For this fight, ranged skills are your best option. Duriel can shred you in close-range combat. To be fair, he can also shred you in long-range combat, but he has fewer options to choose from there.
Duriel has a Freeze Aura and stun attack that work at close range, plus a high-powered charge attack he uses when you get too far away. The bait and attack strategy from Andariel works well in this fight too, but you'll find the best option tends to be sweeping in for attacks, then dancing back away before Duriel's moves land.
If you're a ranged character, find that perfect spot where it's easy to evade Duriel and doesn't trigger his charge attack, then fire off as many of your own attacks as possible. Town Portals also offer a quick escape so you can restock and take a short break before leaping into the fray. Like other major bosses, Duriel's HP won't regenerate if you die and have to start again, so long as you don't log out.
