Diablo 2 Resurrected is finally here, and with it, a myriad of quests, enemies, and challenges for you to discover (or re-discover!). Today we will take you through the final Story Quest of Act 3, The Guardian, which will see you finally facing the evil demon Mephisto.

Durance of Hate: 25 (Normal), 55 (Nightmare), 83 (Hell)
Unlocked By: Smashing the Compelling Orb or entering the Durance of Hate, given by Ormus.
Ok, this is it, this is the end of Act III. You found Mephisto's lair, you defeated the Council, so now all what remains is to equip yourself, buy enough potions, and brace yourself because this demon lord is your next target. You need to enter the Durance of Hate dungeon, where many groups of enemies will be scattered across three levels. At the bottom of this dungeon, three major Council members will wait for you, called Bremm Sparkfist, Wyand Voidbringer, and Maffer Dragonhand.
The Council members can be hard to kill so don't get greedy, pick them one by one, and once you're done with them, go and face the final boss of this act, the evil demon lord Mephisto. The fight itself it's hard enough, but as long as you don't get too reckless and go well prepared, you should be fine. Mephisto is strong as any demon lord in the game, but it's not indestructible.
Defeating Mephisto will open up a Hell Gate that leads to Act IV, where things will get spicier.
