Diablo 2: Resurrected Developers Have Not Ruled Out New Content In The Future

Studio Design Director Rob Gallerani and Project Lead Michael Bukowski of Vicarious Visions recently spoke to Windows Central ahead of the upcoming release for Diablo 2: Resurrected on the 23rd of September.

The two spoke about the difficulty of the game, some of the quality of life changes that were necessary for the game to succeed in 2021, and much more.

When asked about the idea of future content being added Rob Gallerani did not rule out the possibility of fresh content coming to the game, although a long away from launch.

"We wanted to build a really strong foundation before we started talking about the third and fourth floors on this building". Gallerani said to Windows Central.

Diablo 2: Resurrected Developers Have Not Ruled Out New Content In The Future

"If we misstepped on what the core came was, anything else we were doing would have been kind of meaningless." Gallerani continued to say.

The team has plenty of ideas if they were to add fresh content to Diabo 2, but their full focus is restoring the beloved ARPG for long-time players and new fans to the franchise.

Some of the post-launch content could include the addition of new runewards and items, as well as, class rebalancing each new ladder season.

While content is like the ladder is already planned for "shortly after launch", players can expect Diablo 2: Resurrected to be a faithful rendition of the original, which will still appeal to newcomers to the franchise.

Diablo 2: Resurrected will launch on September 23, and is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch.
